There must be dozens of them. All of them are efforts to be appreciated. Not one comes close to capturing the full meaning of the Quran. Some are more problematic than others, they are so inaccurate or unfaithful to the original verse I cringe when I read them. It gets more complicated, because generally, each translation is good for some verses and not for others. So it's not like you can take one translation and stick to it throughout.

Also the word “ghasaq” is used in the Quran, it means twilight, but in the Quran a derivative of it used to mean “darkness” therefore indicating it actually means “darkness” in the Quran. Also the author places emphasis on presenting the literal meaning of the words (and not anybody's interpretation of it, especially since some people change the wording of some words to fit their Hadith-Sunna perspective) while still maintaining English grammatical correctness. I've only found few mistakes with it, but overall it's good. I have to warn that the author's translation is hidden/not-easily-found on his site for some reason.
It took me quite a while to find it. The only translation he displays on his “Quran in English” page is Rashad Khalifa’s translation (which has a lot of mistakes in it). Here's the introduction to the author's translation that is found there: Introduction There are numerous English translations of the Quran available to the reader. However, there was always the need for a translation which would eliminate a number of specific errors common to previous translations. This translation was compiled with a number of considerations in mind: 1- The majority, if not all, of other translations were written according to how the translator understood the words of the Quran and not always according to what the words simply say.
The result of this is that the reader would be reading an interpretation of the Quran rather a factual translation of the words of God. Any personal interpretation, even with the best of intentions, ultimately opens the door to errors since any human understanding will ultimately contain errors; only God's own words are free from error (4:82). Consequently, there has always been a call from non Arabic speaking believers for a translation that does not interpret the Quran, but simply presents the reader with the exact literal translation of what God said in the Book. 2- There have been attempts to translate the Quran word for word but without adhering to the grammatical rules of the English language. This produced incomprehensive results.
There will always be words and phrases which cannot be translated word for word, either due to the absence of English equivalents or due to grammatical rules. When there can be no English equivalent to a Quranic word, the nearest word in meaning is used and at other times a combination of English words are used. In addition, sentence construction and the positioning of words within a sentence in Arabic is not always the same as sentence construction within the English language.
In such cases, minor positional alterations are used as long as the accurate meaning of God's words is preserved. 3- Almost all translators also fell into the error of adding words to God's words, and in other cases omitting words that are found in the Arabic text from the translation! Even though the translator's intentions are not under doubt, taking such liberties with God's words often changes the meaning altogether. The concept of adding any words to God's words is rejected altogether.
